Conflict & Change Research Cluster

The Conflict & Change group contributes to the scientific understanding of political violence.

Pursuing systematic and empirically informed research, the group brings together scholars analyzing the causes, dynamics, and consequences of political conflicts.

Sharing a focus on systematic analysis of theoretically-informed and policy-relevant questions, our research draws on a diverse spectrum of methods—from disaggregated large-n analysis and forecasting to fieldwork-based case studies and normative theory.

Thematically, the groups draws together experts on armed groups, civil wars, dynamics of mobilization,  intervention,  peacekeeping and post-war state-building,  power-sharing and decentralization, reconciliation, and repression and human rights.
