
James D. Boys is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre on US Politics (CUSP) at UCL. His research and teaching interests include US politics and US grand strategy. He has previously held visiting appointments at Tuft’s Fletcher School, King’s College London, the University of North Dakota, and Syracuse University’s London faculty. He also held several roles at Richmond University in London over a twelve-year period, including Professor of International Political Studies. He is the author of three books to date and has recently completed work on his fourth, addressing the Madman Theory as a component of US grand strategy in the nuclear age. He has been a frequent political analyst on CNN, the BBC, Bloomberg, and other media outlets. He received his PhD from the University of Birmingham.
