Hanxu Dong's research looks at local governance and political interaction from the perspective of “community”.
Biography
Hanxu is a PhD student at UCL Political Science, supervised by Dr. Sherrill Stroschein, Dr. Tom O’Grady and Dr. Handi Li. Hanxu holds BA in Philosophy (Political Philosophy) from Shandong University and MSc in Democracy and Comparative Politics from UCL. Hanxu is an active participant in grassroots governance (both in Shanghai and London) and an artist winner in the Apple company’s art festival (hand painting and graphic design).

Hanxu’s research focuses on local governance and political interaction from the perspective of “community”, discussing and comparing the concepts of New Localism and Civil Society across various polities and through different temporal dimensions.
