I am the former UK correspondent for Devex and former researcher at Newsweek International. I am a Fulbright Scholar, specialising in media rights and democratization in Jordan, Palestine and Syria. I hold a BA in Middle East Studies from Bard College, a certification in Journalism from the American University in Cairo, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Syracuse University.
I currently work alongside the Development Engagement Lab team, researching public attitudes toward global poverty. My Fulbright research explored public attitudes and media coverage of aid efforts in the Middle East, as well as the presence of state-sponsored media support in Jordan, Palestine and Syria, and the effects of such support on those countries’ democratic institutions.
