Andrew Scott
- Biography
I have studied for degrees in law (LLB), international relations (MSc) and politics (PhD) at the universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Prior to joining UCL I taught international relations at the University of Edinburgh and worked in policy and research roles at the UK Civil Service, Edinburgh Law School and the Law Society of Scotland.
- Research
I am interested in most aspects of public policy and energy and environmental politics. I am particularly interested in 1) the factors leading to environmental policy change; 2) the role played by business interests and environmental organisations in shaping policy; 3) unconventional oil and gas production; 4) the way in matters of energy security, economic efficiency and environmental sustainability can determine policy.
- Teaching
I currently teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses on public policy, agenda setting and political economy.
