Jonathan Philip Chadwick Sumption, Lord Sumption, will be joined by Professor Kate O'Regan where they will discuss Jonathan's ideas expressed in his Reith Lecture on 'Human Rights and Wrongs'. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0005msd)

Jonathan Sumption argues that judges - especially those of the European Court of Human Rights - have usurped power by expanding the interpretation of human rights law.

Q&A will follow and will be chaired by Dr. Jeff Howard.

Lord Sumption is a British author, medieval historian, and former senior judge and Professor Kate O'Regan is a former judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and is now the inaugural Director of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights in the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford.
