Dr Gloria Gennaro
Biography
I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Public Policy and Data Science at University College London’s Department of Political Science. Before joining UCL, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Immigration Policy Lab, at ETH Zurich. I received my PhD in Public Policy and Administration at Bocconi University, Department of Social and Political Sciences. During my PhD, I visited NYU and Harvard University.
Research
My research focuses on the political economy of advanced democracies, in Western Europe and in the U.S. I use cutting-edge causal inference techniques with machine learning and natural language processing to improve our theoretical understanding of democratic politics. My work has been published, among others, in The Economic Journal, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and the Journal of Politics
