People powered reform: how to build the movement for public service reform

This Demos and UCL Policy Lab panel, supported and in partnership with Lloyds Bank Foundation, explores how the Labour government can work with civil society to deliver its mission-driven agenda. With Cabinet Office Minister Georgia Gould leading reforms to make public services more preventive, relational, and locally rooted, the discussion will highlight how civil society serves both as society’s conscience and a trusted delivery partner. Across the country, communities are already pioneering innovative solutions and building trust in ways that provide better value for money. By drawing on this energy, Labour can show that civil society is not just a safety net but a strategic partner in national renewal — strengthening local economies, fostering resilience, and ensuring a more effective state.
