People powered reform: How can we put civil society at the heart of public service reform?

This Demos panel, in partnership with UCL Policy Lab and Lloyds Bank Foundation, explores how the Conservative Party can renew its relationship with civil society. As the Party looks to “renew and rebuild,” the discussion will highlight how civil society acts both as society’s conscience and a vital service provider. By focusing on prevention, trust, and local knowledge, communities are already delivering innovative solutions and better value for money. Too often overlooked in Whitehall, these successes show civil society is not just a safety net but a strategic partner in national renewal. This session will examine how that energy can be harnessed to build stronger local economies, resilient communities, and a more efficient state.
