UCL World Stroke Day Forum 2019

The UCL World Stroke Day Forum was held on Tuesday 29th October 2019. This was a free event to empower stroke survivors to contribute to and influence research and rehabilitation at UCL.

The PLORAS team held a stall at this event, where members of the research team were available to talk to stroke survivors about the research project.

Professor Cathy Price and Dr Tom Hope gave a talk about their work developing language recovery predictions.  During the talk, they presented videos of 5 stroke survivors talking about their experiences of aphasia, and about the kind of information they would have liked to receive about their language recovery.  Prof. Price described the predictions that could be provided to each of these people based on their brain scans and early language abilities.

We are very grateful to Lee and Daisy, Richard and Adele, Mike, Sue, and Tess for taking part in these videos.
