The Ireland and UK Hub of the Europlanet Society are conducting their first regional meeting on Friday 27 March 2020.

NOTICE: Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, we have decided to make this a fully online meeting. We have created a Zoom meeting for the day. Please email Nick Achilleos at ucl.ac.uk for joining instructions if you wish to participate in the meeting and are not yet registered to attend. Instructions will be sent to all those currently registered.

Regional Hubs are a means of promoting and disseminating planetary science research, and related activities, as part of the Europlanet Society's aims. Researchers from the Ireland and UK planetary science community are invited to take part in this meeting. We would like the event to encompass the full range of planetary science research within the Ireland-UK communities, as well as showcasing the development of planetary science infrastructures and facilities. The programme will consist of oral and poster presentations.

We particularly encourage presentations from early career researchers, and scientists who have disseminated their work via Europlanet networking workshops and / or research infrastructure.

Our featured invited speakers will describe their own research and / or the activities of the Europlanet Society:

  • Anita Heward (Europlanet Society)
  • Emma Woodfield (BAS)
  • Lauren McKeown (Trinity College Dublin)
  • Angelos Tsiaras (UCL)

Please check back for updates to the schedule.

The deadline for the abstracts has now passed, but if you are still interested in participating, please email nicholas.achilleos at ucl.ac.uk to register.

All planetary scientists, regardless of whether you can attend the meeting or not, are encouraged to respond to our survey accessed via our Hub page (link below). Your input is valuable for helping us focus our Hub efforts over the next few years, and for making the Europlanet Society a valuable forum for its members.

We look forward to your participation in our Hub activities.

Nicholas Achilleos (Interim Chair of Ireland-UK Europlanet Hub committee)
