The UCL Space Domain One O'clock virtual lecture on Tuesday 19 October, from 1-2pm BST, will feature CPS Director, Dominic Papineau:

  • Dr Dominic Papineau (LCN / UCL Earth Sciences): A glimpse of research in the Centre for Planetary Sciences at UCL-Birkbeck

Dr Papineau got his BSc in Physics (Major) and Biochemistry (Minor) from McGill University in 2001 and his PhD in Geological Sciences and Astrobiology (certificate) from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2006. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Carnegie Institution of Washington until 2010 and joined UCL in 2013 after a brief passage through Boston College. He studies the history of early life on the primitive Earth using correlative microscopy techniques to prepare for the search for fossil extraterrestrial life.
