This term's Astrobiology and Planetary Exploration (APEX) seminar series kicks off next Tuesday 26 January, with talks by Dr Andy Beard and, newly appointed President of the Mineralogical Society of Great Britain and Ireland, Professor Hilary Downes on unusual clasts found in meteorites:

  • Dr Andy Beard (Birkbeck) - Petrology of a non-indiginous granitic clast in a polymict ureilite
  • Prof. Hilary Downes (Birkbeck) - The origin of opal (hydrated silica) in meteorites
