Research summary

We create new materials that have desirable functional properties or that exhibit interesting emergent phenomena and we study these materials with a wide range of experimental techniques. Outputs range from nano-textured electrodes for battery and fuel cell electrodes to the discovery of exotic electronic groundstates. More details found on my website here.

Teaching summary

I currently teach the first year lecture course PHAS0006 Thermal Physics and the Properties of Matter. I also co-ordinate the final year Physics research projects course PHAS0097/48 and supervise on the group project course PHAS0052.
