The Chemical Biology and Bio-Organic Group Forum was held in Bristol on the 18th February 2025. This annual meeting, brings together the UK’s Chemical Biology community to create networking opportunities and showcase new research at the chemistry-biology interface from academics starting their careers.
Professor Zoë Waller gave a plenary lecture, following receiving the Chemical Biology and Bio-Organic Group Lectureship award in 2024 for her “outstanding contribution to the chemical biology community and her exceptional research achievements on the stability and function of DNA i-motifs”. The lecture was titled “The changing shape of DNA in genes”.
Zoë was not the only representative at the CBBG forum. There were many researchers from the School of Pharmacy present, as well as others from UCL. One of the postdoctoral researchers within the School, Dr Dilek Guneri, won a prize for the best poster. Current MPharm student, Meshezabeel Narciso, also presented a poster about their final year research project, supervised by Dr Chris Waudby.
