Innovative Short Courses in Therapeutic Discovery

7 December 2015

Dr Mohammed (Jaff) Jaffar was recently featured in the Faculty of Life Sciences newsletter about the development of innovative short courses.

"In my role as a Training Fellow within the Translational Research Office, I am creating a series of innovative, cutting edge ‘themed’ short courses in Therapeutic Discovery", said Jaff.

Working with academics and industry experts, these courses build on emerging technologies present at UCL and will be delivered via the online and blended learning platforms. They will be developed to maximize UCL’s global reach and impact in emerging technologies and novel therapies in translational drug discovery. The target audience will be industry scientists, investors and for FLS-affiliated researchers, who would gain expert knowledge in the emerging scientific areas as part of their continued professional development (CPD). Following a review of emerging technologies and established topics which are rapidly evolving in the therapeutic discovery field, a portfolio of courses has been proposed. Financial support from the Life Learning Investment Fund (£25K) has been successfully applied for and will be used towards staff and start-up costs for the first course under development – Antibody Targeted Therapy.' If you are interested in developing an innovative short course in the Therapeutic Discovery area for internal and external offering and would like further information, please contact Dr Mohammed (Jaff) Jaffar.
