Green Light teaching facility

Find out more about Green Light Pharmacy Euston.

"Pharmacy Live" at Green Light Pharmacy Euston is a unique initiative for the UK.

The pharmacy has two floors, the main patient area on the ground floor and an education centre/real pharmacy in the basement. Students from each year will be immersed in practice and will tackle all aspects of community pharmacy such as advising patients on medicines to treat minor ailments, providing support for patients with long term conditions, observing vaccinations, travel clinics, supervised consumption of methadone.

Pharmacy aims

The aim of the pharmacy is to provide an example of the best practice in community pharmacy services and professionalism, so that the students develop skills and confidence as undergraduates. Students from years 1 and 4 have already had placements throughout the whole academic year and there are plans for all four years to have regular placements from now on.

Green Light Pharmacy Euston is one of the five branches run by Sanjay Ganvir as the superintendent and his colleagues. Their approach to community pharmacy is innovative and just the sort of environment where the UCL Pharmacy students can observe and participate in the best examples of pharmacy practice.
