NMR Facility (Internal)

Welcome to the SoP NMR facility!

The Facility comprises two NMR spectrometers: one Avance Neo 600 MHz Bruker Ascend magnet equipped with a SampleJet autosampler and cryoprobe, and one Avance Neo 400 MHz Bruker Ultrashield magnet equipped with a SampleCase autosampler. We are located in room B58 of the School of Pharmacy.

Status Updates (07/05/25)

The 600 MHz and 400 MHz spectrometers are both available for use. Both specs will be unavailable on Weds 14th May due to planned maintenance on the air compressor.

The SamplePro preparation robot is also functional for preparation of aqueous samples - if you wish to use this please contact Nikita.

Spectrometer Bookings

New starters in the NMR lab can book an induction by emailing Nikita at nikita.harvey@ucl.ac.uk. If you have already completed a safety induction, please fill in the training record form here: https://forms.office.com/e/6TC3iVZAPY

400 MHz spectrometer

The 400 MHz spectrometer can be used in automation by anybody who has completed an induction. We are using the NOMAD system for sample submission and data collection

NOMAD server: https://nomad.cs.ucl.ac.uk/

Please collect your samples after data acquisition!

600 MHz spectrometer

The 600 MHz spectrometer may be booked by experienced users through Clustermarket.

  • If you do not have sufficient experience/knowledge to work at the spectrometer independently, please ask a competent member of your lab for supervision or book a training session with Nikita.
  • If you do not yet have access to the PBC Clustermarket, contact Nikita to be invited to create an account. If you are already on the PBC Clustermarket but are not yet part of the NMR users group, contact Nikita and provide your name as it appears on Clustermarket.
  • To access your 600 MHz NMR data, follow the instructions here.
