Job description
One or more PGTAs are sought to teach SCAN0013 (Introduction to Old Norse) from January-March 2020. This module teaches the grammar and syntax of Old Norse through the study of key primary texts and the reading of secondary scholarship on medieval Scandinavian history and culture. The module is typically taught via twice-weekly, hour-long seminars, but these may need to be delivered online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops
Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers
Marking students' work
Giving feedback to students
Requirements for role
An excellent understanding of Old Norse language, literature, and scholarship is required for this position, as is a willingness to teach online if necessary.
Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
