Job description

The Slade is currently seeking to appoint two Postgraduate Teaching Assistants for the 2026-27 academic year to support Critical Studies teaching on the BFA Fine Art. Applications are invited from UCL PhD students.

The purpose of this job is to support teaching and learning in our Critical Studies courses which form part of the BFA Fine Art programme, working with the BFA Critical Studies Tutor to deliver and contribute to sessions of teaching, seminar discussions, writing workshops, presentation workshops and gallery/studio visits, as well as assistance with project work and marking, within the existing framework of the Slade degree programmes.

Key responsibilities

  • Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
  • Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
  • After-class contact time with students, including time-tabled office hours;
  • Marking students' work;
  • Giving feedback to students
