Job description
The Department of Political Science wishes to appoint multiple Postgraduate Teaching Assistants in the 2026-27 academic year. PGTAs support teaching and learning in our modules, working with the academic module leads through the delivery of small group face-to-face teaching for students taking modules in the Department of Political Science. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Main duties of the post include being the in-person seminar leader for seminar/s each week, generate weekly class activities, provide demonstrations, facilitate discussion and answer questions for material presented in lectures.

Key responsibilities
- Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
- Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
- Marking students' work;
- Giving feedback to students;
- After-class contact time with students, including time-tabled office hours
Requirements for role
The applicant must be a current PhD student in a relevant discipline and have a right to work in the United Kingdom. Please see the person specification on the relevant JD for further details.
