Job description
To support teaching and learning in our modules, working with the module convenors to deliver small group teaching to students taking modules in the UCL History.
Main duties of the post are tutorial class teaching, regular meetings with the module convenor, provision of feedback to students, provision of weekly office hours, attendance reporting, coursework assessment and examination marking.
The core teaching in the 2026/27 academic session will be delivered face to face in a classroom setting (though in-year changes may be necessary). PGTAs are expected to be able to commit to be present on the Bloomsbury campus during the teaching terms.
Successful applicants must be available to undertake teaching during the 2026/27 academic year. The precise start date and duration of teaching will vary by module, with teaching taking place in one or more terms.

Key responsibilities
- Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
- Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
- Marking students' work;
- Giving feedback to students
Requirements for role
Applicants must be working towards a PhD in a relevant subject area and demonstrate the skills and subject knowledge appropriate to the module(s) taught.
