Education, Practice and Society (EPS) are looking for PGTAs. Start date: 1st August 2026. Deadline to apply: 11:59pm, Tuesday 16th June 2026.

Modules: The EID MA cluster is made up of five MA courses and the modules PGTAs are likely to work on include one or more of:
Education and International Development: Concepts, Theories and Issues (CTI)
Education, Conflict and Peace (ECP)
Education during Emergency Situations (EES)
Planning for Education and Development (PED)
Co-learning for Disaster and Climate Justice (CoJ
Promoting Health and Wellbeing: Planning, Practice and Participation (PHW)
Number of hours: up to 180 hours per academic year
Start date: 1st August 2026
Duration: Up to 1 year
Grade: PGTA (Grade 6)

Job description
The purpose of the PGTA role is to support teaching and learning on modules, with support from academic module leaders.
The main duties of the post include contributing to class teaching, tutoring and marking oral and written assessments, providing feedback to students, taking part in meetings with the module team and other module-related activities as required.
PGTA roles are intended to be developmental for those involved, so training and support will be given.
PGTAs are expected to be present on the Bloomsbury campus during the terms for which teaching is allocated and during the examination period as required.

Key responsibilities
- Marking students' work;
- Giving feedback to students;
- Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
- Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers
Requirements for role
The successful candidate will be educated to Masters degree level (or having equivalent experience), in an education and international development field (including areas related to the post: such as, educational planning, conflict/peacebuilding, health promotion). You are working towards a relevant postgraduate degree (PhD/EdD or similar) at UCL and have specialist knowledge appropriate to the module taught.
In addition, you have experience of managing virtual learning environments including Moodle design and Talis reading and experience of teaching and supporting students at various levels.
