Job description

The main purpose of the PGTA role is to support teaching and learning in our modules. This involves working with the academic module lead in the delivery of small group teaching for students taking modules that make up the first year of the BA Education Studies programme. The main duties of the post are: seminar group teaching; regular meetings with the module leader; assessment and provision of feedback to students; attendance reporting. PGTAs appointed will receive appropriate support in developing their teaching practice, and will receive mentoring and departmental guidance in relation to their seminar support role.

  • Language, Literacy & Communication (Year One)
  • How People Learn (Year One)

Requirements for role

  • You are currently a UCL PGR student, or registered as a UCL PGR student from 23 September 2024, and not already working as a PGTA on any other UCL programme or intending to do so in the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • The postholder will have demonstrable sound knowledge in a subject area relevant to the module(s) to be supported. You will have knowledge and experience of group facilitation and interactive methods and have a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality, freedom of information, data protection and equal opportunities.
