Job description
- Provide support to the module leads on our postgraduate programmes.
- Design and prepare teaching materials within the overall module framework.
- Support with formative marking duties on allocated modules.
- Support the module lead in the weekly seminars and Moodle resources of the allocated modules.
In this role, you will:
- Receive appropriate support in developing your teaching practice and mentoring and departmental guidance in relation to your seminar support role.
- Be provided with a workload model in agreement with the module leader and approved by the PGTA Lead.
- Be required to attend an introductory, three-hour UCL Arena One Gateway Workshop.
- Be expected to complete the Teaching Associate Programme leading to Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
- Be monitored to ensure that you have adequate time to pursue research and not be overburdened with facilitation responsibilities which would be likely to limit your capacity to complete a thesis in the due time.

- Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops
Requirements for role
- Working towards a PhD (on completion of the PhD, you will no longer be eligible to participate in this PGTA scheme)
- Ability to work independently for short periods and as part of a team, recognising when advice / input needs to be sought
- Knowledge and experience of group facilitation and interactive methods
