Job description

The Bartlett School of Planning is looking for Postgraduate Teaching Assistants for Term 2 of the 2025/26 academic year. 

The purpose of this job is to support teaching and learning in our modules, working with the Module Coordinator, Teaching Assistants and/or other PGTAs in the delivery of the sessions and the assessment of course work in the School of Planning.

Main duties of the post are tutorial class teaching, regular meetings with the course lecturer, provision of feedback to students, attendance reporting, coursework assessment and examination marking.

Key responsibilities

  • Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
  • Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
  • Dissertation co-supervision at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level(s);
  • Marking students' work;
  • Giving feedback to students;
  • After-class contact time with students, including time-tabled office hours;
  • Laboratory demonstration

Requirements for role

  • Working towards a relevant postgraduate degree (PhD) at UCL
  • High level of literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel, email, and the internet
  • Specialist skills appropriate to the course taught
