Developmental Psychology

With an outstanding reputation in this field, our MSc programmes are tailored for different student interests.

Programmes

  • Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology MRes (delivered in collaboration with UCL at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families): this two-year programme focuses on developing skills in neuroscience and research, with an emphasis on clinical disorders such as autism and anxiety. Students spend their first year in London and their second year at the Child Study Center in Yale, where they complete a substantive research project.
  • Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice MSc (delivered in collaboration with UCL at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families): this two-year programme gives students an opportunity to learn about child mental health from multiple perspectives, and to develop practical skills for working with children and families in a clinical setting. In their second year students have a year-long clinical placement in a child and adolescent mental health team (CAMHS) where they are supervised by experienced practitioners.
  • Early Child Development and Clinical Applications MSc (delivered in collaboration with UCL at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families): this two-year programme provides a comprehensive understanding of early child development through a range of theoretical and clinical perspectives.
  • Developmental Neuroscience and Mental Health MPhil/PhD (delivered in collaboration with UCL at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families): this UCL-Yale programme is a unique graduate programme for exceptional students in the field of developmental psychology, neuroscience, and mental health.
