Module Aims
- To further develop knowledge of research design and statistical analysis relevant to speech and language research and evaluation.
- To enable the application of statistical methods to issues in clinical research and evaluation.
- To further develop practical skills in using a popular statistical package (SPSS) to analyse data sets.
- To understand the key concepts and terminology that underpin inferential statistics and regression approaches.
Module Contents
Exploratory data analysis, research design and statistical methods in SLT research, practical skills in appraisal and analysis, power calculations and common statistical fallacies.
Assessment
Coursework: Data analysis 15%
Written exam 85%
