Speech & Language Intervention Research

Facilitating links between research and clinical practice.

The Centre for Speech and Language Intervention Research (CSLIR) focuses on research with people with speech and language needs, with an emphasis on the practical implementation of research. Members come from the UK and abroad, work in universities, health services and schools. Interests include both developmental and acquired communication needs.

The UCL (CSLIR) focuses on research with people with speech and language needs, with an emphasis on knowledge exchange and the practical implementation of research. Members come from the UK and abroad, work in Universities, Health Services & Education.  Interests include both developmental and acquired communication differences.

Aims

  1. Share current research information and encourage implementation in clinical practice.
  2. Involve users and other stakeholders in research co-production and development.
  3. Foster partnerships in order to build research capacity across centres, including making bids for funding.
  4. Involve users and other stakeholders in research development.
  5. Be a resource for clinicians/practitioners providing access to web-based materials for use in assessment and therapy.

Study: These programmes are aimed at professionals working in child or adult services in health, education or social care who have an interest in research and wish to carry out a research in their work environment.
