Nadine Dijkstra

Dr. Nadine Dijkstra completed her BSc in Psychology, MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the Donders Institute in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Throughout her studies she has been fascinated with the neural correlates of perceptual consciousness. During her PhD with Prof. Marcel van Gerven she used a combination of machine learning techniques and neuroimaging to study neural similarities between veridical perception and mental imagery. She also did two lab visits as part of her PhD: one at UCL with Prof. Karl Friston, Dr. Peter Zeidman and Dr. Sasha Ondobaka to investigate effective connectivity and one at Oxford University with Dr. Prof. Mark Woolrich and Diego Vidaurre to investigate temporally unconstrained decoding. As a postdoc in the MetaLab (funded by NWO Rubicon and Marie Curie-Sklowdowska Fellowships) she will focus on neural and computational mechanisms of perceptual awareness as well as perceptual reality monitoring, and the possible link between these two.
