As an MSc Social Cognition student at UCL I developed an interest in the topic of motivated reasoning and conducted a research project looking at whether certain cognitive mechanisms influence how people interpret new information about the likelihood of certain events happening to them in the future. After completing the Masters course, I got a job as a behavioural scientist and helped clients to apply insights from psychology to tackle behavioural challenges. I am now back at UCL doing a PhD and will be investigating cognitive and neural mechanisms that appear to be involved in unethical and risk-seeking behaviours.
