After the completion of my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and my master in Neuroscience at King`s College London, I joined the Department of Experimental Psychology at UCL to contribute to its development, through the creation of innovative studies in the language sciences.
I am a PhD student under the supervision of Jenni Rodd and Jo Taylor, and member of the Word Lab at UCL. During my PhD, I will investigate how we can improve access to the right meanings of ambiguous words. To investigate this, and taking into account that human semantic knowledge is grounded in the perceptual system, I will develop a multi-modal language intervention in adults, with the purpose to enhance their performance when they need to apply language disambiguation skills. The possible benefits of this intervention would have an impact on different learnings settings, as well as, in the daily life of many healthy people, and particularly those suffering a language disorder.
