Rita Lopes

Rita Lopes
Rita is a final year PhD researcher at University College London (UCL), an Associate Lecturer at London Metropolitan University (LMU), and has over 10 years of industry experience – including 5+ years as the Happiness Lead for a software company.

Since 2017, she has taught in multiple undergraduate and MSc modules at UCL and LMU, as well as supervised 10+ students’ research projects. At UCL, she has been the Lead demonstrator for teaching in undergraduate Psychology research methods modules, she is often seminar leader, and is a Psychology writing lab tutor. At LMU, she is an Associate Lecturer in Social Psychology for BSc and MSc programmes.

She has extensive project management and consulting experience at both privately held and public entities across countries in Europe, North America and Asia, and has been an invited speaker at multiple events and organisations, such as ISPA-IU (Lisbon) where she earned her BSc and MSc in I/O Psychology, Volkswagen DSS, Psychology X, and Work with impact series.

Her current research focuses on the topic of happiness at work, what affects it, how it fluctuates over time, and how it relates to how people work and feel.
