The new intervention: VIPP-FC

What is VIPP-FC?

VIPP is a brief home-based attachment and parenting intervention, delivered by trained therapists throughout 6 90-min sessions over 4 months. It has strong evidence in support of its use with families of young children in many settings.

Sessions involve both carer and child and use video-recording of their interactions as the basis for themed discussion in the next session. Sessions focus on recognising cues and improving carer sensitivity to the child and also teach carers sensitive discipline skills. VIPP-Foster Care is designed to specifically address the attachment, emotional and behavioural difficulties often shown by children in foster care.
