Trainers

Katja Werheid PhD, Clinical Neuropsychologist, Psychotherapist (CBT), Supervisor in Neuropsychology. Associate Professor at Humboldt University Berlin, Department of Psychology.

Dr. Katja Werheid (PhD) is an academic neuropsychologist and psychotherapist with specialisation in dementia and old age psychotherapy. She is the author of several textbooks, and has written chapters and papers on dementia and depression in brain disease. Besides her scientific engagement in adaptation, implementation, and dissemination of CST in Germany, she is the Editor of the German CST manual, and provides training and supervision for psychologists and health care professionals starting CST groups. In 2017, she founded CST Germany (in German: DIKST, Deutsches Institut für Kognitive Stimulationstherapie). Since 2018, she is chair of ANBER, a registered non-profit organization that runs CST trainings in Germany and German-speaking countries.

Barbara Schaubs, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist; Potsdam/Berlin

Barbara’s first profession is an occupational therapist. After several years of professional activity, she studied psychology in Dresden and Berlin and wrote her thesis on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST).

Barbara currently works as a psychologist and trainee neuropsychologist at Ernst von Bergmann Klinikum, Potsdam. She continues working as occupational therapist in a practice in Zeuthen (near Berlin) with mainly elderly patients with dementia. As a certified CST trainer, she has run several CST groups over the past years and provides trainings in cognitive stimulation therapy organised by ANBER in collaboration with CST Germany.
