Niall joined UCL in November 2018 as a Senior Research Fellow in Health Psychology. Niall conducts research as a Behavioural Scientist within the multi-disciplinary and multi-organisational National Institute of Health Research Health Protections Research Unit (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/health-psychology/research/NIHR_HPRU).

Niall provides input across a range of projects, including: antimicrobial stewardship interventions in secondary care; rapid flu testing; a physical health service for people who inject drugs; and HIV point-of-care testing for homeless people. In addition, Niall provides input to projects from other CBC workstreams, such as the ontology-based modelling of behaviour change theories project.

Niall is a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered, and Health & Care Professions Council Registered, Health Psychologist. Niall completed the BSc (Hons.) Psychology degree at the University of Dundee in 2014, MSc Health Psychology degree at the University of St. Andrews in 2015, and BPS doctorate-level professional qualification in Health Psychology (Stage 2) in 2018. Niall worked as a Trainee Health Psychologist in NHS Borders (to complete the Stage 2 programme), and as a Practitioner Psychologist in Hywel Dda University Health Board, before joining UCL.
