New shared PALS research facilities announced resulting from collaboration with IoE

25 November 2018

Collaboration between UCL PALS and the IoE Department of Psychology and Human Development results in funding shared research facilities.

Bedford Way IoE

The IoE Department of Psychology and Human Development (PHD) and the UCL Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS) were jointly awarded funding from the RCIF Capital Equipment Fund to develop experimental psychology research equipment and facilities.

The funding will allow for the purchase of 30 new state-of-the-art computers for experimental research which will be installed into the PALS individual testing cubicles located in 26 Bedford Way.  In addition, five of the cubicles will be sound-proofed to allow auditory experiments to be conducted.

These modifications will be conducted over the summer 2019 with the new facilities expected to be available for use by PHD and PALS members from September 2019.

These exciting new shared facilities will contribute to an increase in research capacity and outputs for both psychology departments and will hopefully facilitate many more collaborations between the IOE and UCL PALS.
