How do I embed metadata into a file?

It is possible for metadata to become separated from content over time and one way to reduce the chance of this happening is to embed metadata into the content file before you upload it.

Embedding metadata ensures descriptive information (such as Author Name, date created, etc.) stays a part of the content regardless of whoever else re/uses it in future.

Embedding metadata is relatively straightforward, but the process can vary depending on the type of file you are working with. Below are examples on how to embed metadata into more common file-types. If you would like to know how to embed metadata into file-types other than those listed below, please contact us and we will help you find a solution.
