Pregnancies in HIV-positive women

All pregnant women with diagnosed HIV living in the UK or Ireland should be reported through our active quarterly reporting scheme. No names are requested or recorded, but reports from different sources are matched by date of birth, location of report and other demographic variables.

  • Each maternity unit in the UK and Ireland has a named respondent who is responsible for all reports to the NSHPC.
  • Obstetric reporting is now completed securely online.

Please note: as we make the transition to online reporting, there may be some overlap in paper-based reporting and online reporting. Please continue to return any paper forms that you currently have or receive in the near future. You will not be able to submit forms online for cases submitted on previous Green Cards.

Paper-based maternity reporting will end Summer 2018 and all information will be collected online.

For more information on the maternity reporting process, please see the Maternity Reporting Flow Chart.
