Governance

Governance for the National Adult Cardiac Surgery Audit (NACSA) is the management framework within which project decisions are made.

Professional society governance is provided by the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS), whose role it is to identify and explain divergence in surgical practice. More information about this process can be found in their publication:

Working within NICOR’s overarching governance framework, the NACSA project board consists of relevant stakeholders whose role it is to develop the strategic direction of the audit and ensure regular, accurate and effective reporting on the data. It meets on a quarterly basis and database manager representatives are changed on a rotational basis to ensure equity.
