Introduction to the Yenching Academy Scholars programme (18 November)

John Holden, Associate Dean of the Yenching Academy, Peking University will be introducing the programme on 18 November at 5.15pm in Room 736, Level 7, UCL Institute of Education.

The Yenching Academy, Peking University offers a fully-funded (tuition and accommodation and living costs) Master of China Studies degree programme through an intensive programme of interdisciplinary classroom and field study of Chinese history and culture, as well as real-time issues in China's development. Peking  University is the partner university of UCL IOE Confucius Institute.

As a college integrated within China's leading university, the Yenching Academy prepares a diverse group of exceptional international and Chinese students with the knowledge of China that they need to fulfil their potential as global citizens and leaders.

There are approximately 100 scholars each year: 35% from China and 65% from countries all over the world.

Academy courses will be available in both English and Chinese. It will be possible for international students to complete their degrees with courses taught in English. Chinese language study will be required for all international students; those with an advanced level of Chinese will be encouraged to take courses taught in Chinese.

The programme is one year full-time, with a September 2016 start.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree (any subject) by 31 August 2016. Preference will be given to those 25 years old or younger on 31 August 2016. The final deadline for applications is 31 January 2016.
