Asthma sufferers: earn £30 plus travel expenses by participating in an informal group discussion

5 October 2016

Caroline Katzer and Marissa Mes, UCL School of Pharmacy PhD students, are conducting a group discussion study with adults with asthma.

Lungs

Who can participate?

We are looking for people with asthma within easy reach of London who are prescribed preventer inhalers/inhaled corticosteroids, fluent English speakers and aged between 18 and 70.

Why do we need this study?

The United Kingdom has one of the highest number of people with asthma in Europe. Developing programmes to support people with asthma could lead to improvements in their health and wellbeing. This group discussion will therefore collect real-world experiences to inform the design of a new support programme for people with asthma.

What does the study involve?

We would like you to take part in a two-hour, face-to-face group meeting with 5-8 participants per group, where we are interested in hearing about your experiences with your asthma and your prescribed medication. This information will contribute to the development of a new support programme for people with asthma.

Location

The group discussion will last about two hours and will take place at the Centre for Behavioural Medicine at BMA House, Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9JP.

You will be compensated for your time with £30 plus your travel expenses. Refreshments will be provided.
