Participants with colorectal cancer needed for focus group discussion

23 October 2014

If you have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and you are not currently receiving treatment or if you know someone who might be suitable and interested in this study, then we would like to hear from you.

A focus group at UCL

I am a Doctoral student at University College London and I am looking for colorectal cancer survivors living in the UK who are 18 years old or older, to take part in a group discussion about their lifestyle (including eating and exercise) and long-term health. We will ask a series of questions to help us to understand more about cancer survivors' views about lifestyle following cancer recovery and whether they would welcome information about healthy living.

The study is being conducted by researchers at University College London (UCL) and is funded by UCL, UCL Hospitals, Cancer Research UK and Weight Concern. All data will be collected and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

What will it involve? If you agree to take part, you will be asked to attend one focus group meeting at UCL. The meeting will last approximately 1h30mins and we will reimburse participants for reasonable travel expenses.

Interested in taking part? Please contact Sonia Lopes on 020 7679 1723 or e-mail: sonia.lopes.13@ucl.ac.uk

If you know someone who might be suitable for this study, I would be grateful if you could pass on this information.

Sonia Lopes, MPhil/PhD Student, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health
