10 August 2016

Researchers from the UCL Division of Immunity and Infection are looking for healthy participants aged 16 to 24 years old and those aged 65 years and over to take part in studies examining the effects of ageing on immune responses to Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) and ageing immunity.

Earn £50 by taking part in an ageing immunity study The studies are aimed at improving vaccine responses as we age, and comparing immune responses between young and older populations.

Participants must be of UK or European Caucasian ethnicity and healthy - healthy as determined by a medically qualified investigator, based on a medical evaluation including medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests and cardiac monitoring.

The study will involve visits to the UCLH Clinical Research Facility, 170 Tottenham Court Road, London over a period of 7-10 days, depending on which arm of the study you are in. Participants will need to give blood and skin samples. Appointment times should last 30-45 mins, but the first screening appointment may take up to an hour.

As well as contributing to vital research on ageing immunity, participants will be given £50 to compensate for their time and travel expenses.
