Male participants wanted for sleep and memory research study: chance to win up to £140

21 June 2017

A Master's student from UCL Psychology and Language Sciences is recruiting male participants as part of his research project investigating the effect of sleep on memory processes.

Male participants wanted for sleep and memory research: chance to win up to £140 Specifically, the research project will examine how sleep will interact with rewards and information structure to influence memory performance.

What's in it for you?

  • A chance to test your memory
  • You will be given an opportunity to win up to £140 depending on your performance during the task
  • You will be helping a master's student to complete his research project.

Who can take part?

  • Males
  • Aged 18-30
  • Read English fluently
  • Non-smokers
  • Regular sleep-wake schedule.

What does it involve?

  • There will be two sessions, 7 days apart
  • Each session is formed of one learning and one retrieval that lasts for 2 hours
  • First, you will learn a task by playing Planet Hopper and then have a retention interval of wake or sleep
  • When you return to the laboratory we will ask you to recall the task
  • In part two, this is repeated with the opposite retention interval (sleep or wake).
