Generation UK-India cultural immersion programmes

27 March 2015

UCL students have the opportunity to apply for an exciting two-week cultural immersion programme in India, supported by the British Council and UKIERI, and delivered by IndoGenius.

Generation UK-India Cultural Immersion Programmes

Since 2009, 1,115 UK students have come to India on the UKIERI Study India Programme. Inspired by its phenomenal success, and the life-changing experiences it has provided young people from across the UK, the British Council is launching Generation UK-India. IndoGenius, delivery partner of UKIERI Study India, will be running several cultural immersion placements this summer.

Immersion programmes

There are 400 places available this year on three themed programmes:

  • Make in India: Experience India through the lens of what gets made here. You will interact with artisans in rural Rajasthan, witness high-tech manufacturing in Gujarat, be inspired by slum entrepreneurs in Mumbai and meet policy makers in Delhi.
  • Study India: This flagship programme includes time in the megacities of Delhi and Mumbai. Apply today for the intensive, immersive introduction to Indian culture, religion, history and business, including time on campus with peers.
  • Digital India: Calling all entrepreneurs and those interested in the impact of technology - visit Mumbai and Bangalore and meet those seeking to solve global challenges, as well as those building the next billion dollar businesses.

Anyone over the age of 18 can apply for the Make in India and Digital India programmes - including graduates.

The Study India programme is open to anyone over the age of 18 enrolled at a UK university at the time of application.

Successful applicants will need to pay for their international flights, vaccinations, insurance and pocket money - all other costs (e.g. accommodation, food, transport, tuition, excursions etc.) are fully-funded.

The Generation UK-India mailing address is: IndoGenius, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi 110001, India.
