New design of The Week@UCL launched thanks to staff feedback

10 November 2016

This week marks the launch of a new-look staff newsletter, thanks to feedback from the UCL community.

New design of The Week@UCL launched today thanks to staff feedback

In readiness for the new academic year, UCL Communications and Marketing (CAM) conducted research with a wide range of staff to improve the look and feel of The Week@UCL. CAM held focus groups and consulted with staff from faculties and departments across the university including the Staff Disability Forum to find out how we could make improvements to the channel based on current staff feedback.

Collaboration

The Week@UCL was first launched in May 2011 and was redesigned in 2014 after consultation with a range of UCL staff. We wanted to continue that collaborative approach to ensure staff have a say on internal communications at UCL and could inform the third iteration of the e-newsletter.

The revamp has only been possible because of the input from staff who shared their excellent ideas and suggestions. The final design incorporates their feedback to produce a visually appealing staff newsletter which is hoped will prove engaging, useful and informative.

The Week@UCL is read by more than 6,000 staff per week, and reaches around 50% of our potential staff audience. Past issues of The Week@UCL are available to view in an archive hosted on UCL Staff News website

If you have an announcement, event, or news item you would like to submit for inclusion in The Week@UCL that is relevant to a wide range of staff, please send an email with a brief outline of the item and a hi-res photograph to internalcommunications@ucl.ac.uk

For more information about the items we include, please see The Week@UCL Editorial Policy.
