Open City Documentary Festival: submissions for 2016 special events programme

17 December 2015

Open City Documentary Festival is now looking for submissions for our 2016 special events programme.

Open City

We are looking for events that explore ways of documenting the world in innovative and compelling ways.

Running alongside our regular programme of film screenings, masterclasses and industry events, our special events programme aims to showcase the best of UCL's visual output and cutting-edge research.

This year, we are especially interested in live documentary, virtual reality, experimental ethnography and visual representations of data. Ideas need not be limited to these areas and we encourage you to apply with experimental events.

Examples from past years include A Wall is a Screen, Nightwalking and a day-long series of events exploring the possibilities of story-telling with virtual reality technology. For more examples, please visit our website.

To apply, please send a 300 word proposal to sophie@opencitylondon.com. Be sure to include the following:

(1) Outline of your event - indicating the type of event, subject, length and maximum number of participants

(2) Why it fits with the festival's ethos of providing an open space to nurture creative documentary and champion new forms of visual engagement with the world around us

(3) Costings (note that funds are limited)

(4) Please remember to include all contact details

Submissions are open until Sunday 17th January 2016.

If you have any questions about the special events programme or would like to discuss your idea, please email sophie@opencitylondon.com
