UCL moves up 30 places in Stonewall Workplace Equality Index

17 January 2013

The inclusiveness of UCL as an employer has again been recognised in this year's Stonewall Workplace Equality Index (WEI).

UCL has, for the second time in as many years, been acknowledged as one of the country's Top 100 gay-friendly employers.

Encouragingly, UCL has moved up 30 places in the index this year and is now ranked as the 53rd best employer for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual staff. This is a great achievement for UCL, as it is one of only six universities in the Index and is the result of the hard work of our LGBT Equality Group in partnership with the Equalities and Diversity Team.

Sir Stephen Wall, Chair of UCL Council & the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Equality Champion, has reaffirmed his support for this initiative: "At UCL, we are delivering on our commitment to be one of the best employers for LGBT staff. We have won the laurels. I promise you we will not rest on them".
