UCL launches new Research Integrity hub

10 November 2015

Supporting excellence in research lies at the heart of UCL's core principles.

Molecules In order to ensure the highest possible standards of research across the university, UCL has launched a new Research Integrity hub, bringing together information on the research life cycle, including policy, ethical and practical issues and making it easier for staff and students to find the information they need to guide their work.

The website draws together advice and guidance from across UCL on good practice throughout the research life cycle, from design and approval through to publication and authorship, as well as new guidance on collaborative working, research outside the UK and the new requirements for external researchers and information on the Research Funding Ethics Policy.

Professor David Price, UCL Vice-Provost (Research), said: "We know that the excellent standard of research produced across UCL would be unachievable without the integrity and commitment of our staff and students. However, we also know that in the past it has not always been straightforward to find and consult UCL policies on some areas affecting research practices. That's why we've streamlined the process and brought the information together, so information relating to research best practice, policies and training can be more accessible and researchers can feel confident that their work conforms to our standards."

UCL has also recently published a Statement on Research Integrity reflecting the value UCL places on high standards of research integrity across all of its activities.  This statement applies to all staff and students at UCL and sets out the standards to which all those involved with research at or in collaboration with UCL are expect to adhere.
